Xserve G4
Introduced in 2002, the Xserve G4 marked Apple's first dedicated server system since the Network Server 500/700. Previously Apple offered Powermacs with server software, but no special hardware modifications. The Xserve G4 helped mark Apple's re-entrance into the server market, and helped pave the way for future Xserves.

Owners of these servers can upgrade thier model by purchasing newer OS X Server Software, RAM, Drive Trays, Optical Drives, Ethernet Cards.
